A-level tuition in Reading: maths and the sciences
Learn to Excel teaches A-level maths, physics, chemistry, biology and English in Reading. We cover the AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC Eduqas and IB exam boards. Teaching runs in small groups and one-to-one, in person at our Reading centre and online. Every tutor holds an enhanced DBS certificate.
Concept-first teaching at A-level
A-level rewards genuine understanding over memorising. A student who has only memorised a method or a fact can struggle the moment a question departs from the exact form they practised. Concept-first teaching builds a student who can reason from first principles, whether that means working through an unfamiliar mechanism in chemistry or applying a theorem to a new problem in maths. This carries through every subject we teach at A-level.
Five subjects, five exam boards
We teach A-level maths, physics, chemistry, biology and English. Students sit AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC Eduqas or IB, depending on their school and course. We prepare students for all five boards.

Small groups and one-to-one, in person and online
Small group sessions suit a student who benefits from working alongside peers at a similar level. One-to-one sessions suit a student who needs the pace or focus adjusted specifically to them. Both formats run in person at our Reading centre and online for families who prefer to join remotely. Parents choose the format that fits their child and their week.
